Trojans attacking my computer?

I was trying to get a new myspace layout, when i clicked a website, and then another window popped up saying that I had trojans. I’m on a Mac, so it immediately sent me a program that would help block them. I was a bit suspicious because it sent me a windows program. Wondering why, I took a closer look at the window that was showing me that I might have trojans and the display looked that of a windows screen. Still to be safe, I just downloaded iAntiVirus. I think that window I opened up was a fake, and if I had tried to download the windows antivirus program, it was disguise in another virus. Am I right?

Can I run a separate personal firewall on my PC laptop that shares a wireless connection w/ a Mac desktop?

Help! I have a virus on my Mac 10.4.9?
