How can I get a free firewall program for my pc?

I’m using our mac right now. We also have a pc that is hooked up to the cable modem and router.

We haven’t been able to get an internet connection on the pc since reconnecting it after renovating our house.

My husband contacted our ISP. He was told that it isn’t the pc, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to connect via the mac. We were told that the firewall program we have expired, as far as the free trial period is concerned.

Our money is near depleted after the renovation (trust me, it was very necessary for us to keep living here). So, we cannot afford to buy a new one.

Is there a firewall program that I can download from the mac and burn it to a disc and then install it on the pc?
*we got connected again, yay!! We’re going to try Comodo, since it had the most recommendation…Thanks guys!!!

Connected to wireless router, but no internet?

I’ve been looking around, but I can’t find a solution that seems to fix my problem. I’m connected to my wireless router through my laptop running XP. I can sign on to AIM and the computer is downloading updates, but I get a page load error every time I try Internet explorer. I can also connect to the internet through my Mac on the router (which I’m on now).

Anyway, I’ve tried this but it didn’t work:
“You may have an IP conflict. To check this go to control panel> Network connections> right click on the wireless adapter> choose properties. Go to TCP/IP in the scroll box and highlight it. Then choose the properties box below. In the window that appears, make sure both radio buttons are set to automatic. Do this on the second computer as well. Restart both machines and you should be good to go.”

I’ve turned off the firewall. Under Network Connections I can see the wireless connection is “connected” and the “Internet Gateway” Internet connection is connected. Are there any other solutions that I can try to fix this? If you have any ideas, can you submit them to me with step-by-step process? Oh, I have also connected to the internet before through the wireless network on the computer, but it stopped working for some reason.

Macbook Pro Wi-Fi Problems?

Warcraft 3 battle net issue?

I am using a mac (10.5) and a couple of days ago I couldn’t connect to battle net anymore. I get the “Invalid sever/connect manually through modem” error. It worked for me before but now it doesn’t. I have a active internet connection and all my other apps work with the internet. What o you think is the problem? I can’t reinstall it because I lost my serial key (is there a way to get it back). So is there a way to fix this without reinstalling it?

PS. I am using net barrier (but it’s turned off) and I am using Peer guardian (also turned off).

PPS. I have tried it on Wacraft 3 RoC and Warcraft 3 FT. Both don’t work.

I have 3 computers, each needs a completely different and unrelated IP address AND Mac address?

I am not trying to bid on my own items. If ebay shuts down one of my accounts for the items I sell, I want to have others as back ups. So the IP addresses and MAC addresses can not be related in anyway. Also, I use 3 computers to keep it more simple in case I forget to delete cookies/change IP addresses.

Hacking my own wireless network?

Hi, i have a wireless Lan. I have no passwords to it apart from the login which only i know.
I do not use a WEP Key, or at least i am not using it at the time.
It is a belkin router.
I have someone who keeps stealing my internet connection and is constantly connecting to my network.
I think this person lives round the corner to me but im not sure which house.
Obviously i can see his IP address network name and MAC address. I don’t think this person has any major security on his machine but maybe using a firewall.
Is there anyway i can connect to his computer to find out who he/ she is?
And please do not tell me to turn on WEP encription as that is not what im asking.

George, can you read the third line up from the bottom of my orginal question, the one about WEP, Tinribs can you read the 4th line up and answer it? Sleepylazy can you read the forth line up also, John K thanks for the attemp, but could you perhaps point me to somewhere the does have enough room to help me, and thanks Mystery customer, but i can already see him with net view, but cant get into the machine

unable to access certain websites in Mac OSX?

does anyone else have this problem? i’m unable to access certain websites (particularly myspace) from my computer. i am able to get to the homepage, but when i try to log in it takes a long time, stops, then i get a “timed out” message or “unable to connect to the server” message. i’ve tried 3 different browsers. however, i’m able to connect on a different computer with a different internet connection. i’m almost positive it’s not a firewall issue, as i’ve been able to connect to myspace in the past.

i’ve tried deleting my cookies, deleting my cache, restarting, etc. anyone have other ideas? thanks.
also i get “lost internet connection” — but i know that’s not the case because i’m able to connect to other sites.
no, it’s not a cheap connection – it’s actually a very fast ethernet connection.
