tkdnsacountry asked: I am curently looking to buy a new computer. I have already decided to buy a notebook computer because I am a student and it will be more convenient for me to be able to take it to class. It is way past time for me to get a new computer. My current desktop is running Windows 98SE. I’m just not sure how much hard drive I need or how much memory. I am a Computer Aided Design and Drafting student. I also am interested in doing graphic design. People in the past have suggested Mac, but with all of the changes in technology I understand that Mac has become nothing more than an over priced PC. There used to be many better components in a Mac, but now the only major difference is higher priced software. I know I want a notebook pc running Windows Vista. I’m trying to decide about the hard drive size, the amount of memory, the graphics card, the screen size, and the battery life. I am interested in any information anyone can give me about graphics and CAD software, also.

fritaco@sbcglobal.net asked: I have a Mac Tower running OS10.9. Connection to internet via built-in ethernet and a DSL service. I am planning to expand to 2-3 additional computers running off the one internet connection. While I am computer experienced (on Macs & PC’s alike since 1984), I am code and installation dumb. There has to be a router that does automatic set-up via included software for the Mac. A solid firewall is a must.

Christina M asked: I have 3 computers, each is running a different Ebay account. Ebay installs spy software on your computer to check your mac address. They also check your IP address to see if you have multiple accounts. How do I set up an internet connection so each computer will have a different IP address AND MAC address? If I get dynamic DSL, is there a way I can use 3 DSL modems and connect the DSL line to whichever I need to use? What company offers this kind of service and what package do I need?
Thanks!

Spanky McP asked: I always used Dreamweaver no problems in our old office. We moved to a new office and are on a shared network now and I cannot get Dreamweaver (or any other program, Fetch etc.) to FTP through the firewall even though the network admin gave me the ip #s and ports that should have allowed it. He’s not familiar with Macs or graphic software and I have no clue about firewalls or networks so you can see where this is a large problem.

Tremulant asked: I have a G3 Mac running OS 10.3.9 connected to the internet through a LAN that it accesses through a wireless USB adapter. I am trying to network it with my HP Notebook running Vista Home Premium – connected to the internet through the same LAN. I have already enabled Windows file sharing on the Mac and made sure that the name of the workgroups on both computers match. Enabled file sharing on my PC also. Viewed other board posts and blogs and tried numerous fixes and nothing is working so far. Tried disabling both firewalls completely but neither computer will show up in the Network locations of the other. I tried entering the Mac’s IP manually into my PC but that didn’t do anything.
I hope its just something stupid I’m overlooking. Any ideas?

Jennifer M asked: I came home to find on my google home page in the search bar “I gave my baby polio”. I have no idea how it got there. Could my computer have been hacked remotely or would someone have to have been physically at my computer. I’m running Mac OS X 10.4 and my firewall was turned off at the time. I find this very creepy especially considering I’m pregnant. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
